On Saturday 12th October, Logos celebrated 20 years. This milestone event brought together different generations of people who have had a part in creating, forming and continuing the story of The Logos Project from our humble beginnings in 1999.
We enjoyed the stories from three guest speakers, Fr Pat Breeze sm (one of the founding priests of Logos), Chris Lautua (former event ministry member) and Jen Martinez (CEO of Logos); who all shared their time and journey with Logos. We were also able to enjoy the entertainment from a live band led by one of our young people, Leilani; a reunited music group from the old event ministry team; a liturgical dance presented by our young males; and a medley from some of our musically talented Connectors.
A memory wall, time capsule, photo timeline and most importantly conversation, provided moments for those from the past and present to reminisce and reflect upon their collective contribution over the past 20 years. As a way to acknowledge the foundational members of Logos and all who had walked in the Logos space before them, the current young adult community shared a moving rendition of the hīmene, ‘Ka Waiata’ and a powerful and equally moving haka.
The entire celebration was a wonderful way to mark this significant milestone and a special way to bring together all who have moved through Logos since 1999.
