Marist is the name given to those who identify with the Catholic Religious organisation called the Society of Mary.
The Logos Project is a group of ordinary people seeking to live by the principles of the 'Marist' spirit. This is a spirit of justice, compassion, mercy and respect for all, and it is a spirit that seeks to engender hope.
The Logos Project provides a range of programmes for young people in Community, School and Church settings.
Programmes include leadership development, workshops, group and individual mentoring, family support, retreats, holiday programmes and camps, and specific faith formation initiatives. These programmes are particularly aimed at young people who are vulnerable or marginalised.
This is the heart of Marist work: Without discrimination, we include all and we seek to enable men and women to grow and develop according to their absolute potential.
All of our work is based on the framework of Te Whare Tapa Wha – addressing our physical, familial/relationship, mental and spiritual needs, in order that all of us might reach our fullest potential as human beings. We believe that this potential is achieved when each person contributes their strengths and skills in the service of their wider community.
We currently have 14 staff with a range of backgrounds, roles, experiences and qualifications. We work with over 10 000 young people in the Auckland and Far North areas.
